LongShine Technology Helps Zimbabwe Build a New Benchmark for Energy Digitalization in Africa

In March of last year, LongShine Technology  formally signed an agreement with Zimbabwe’s power transmission and distribution company, ZETDC, to jointly develop a national unified electricity billing and operations management system. After more than a year of customized development and local adaptation, the system was officially launched this year, becoming LongShine’s first statelevel digital power benchmark project implemented in Southern Africa.

The newly deployed system integrates core functional modules such as customer management, smart billing, meter data management, and mobile operations, covering the entire power service process from user registration, metering, and cost calculation to bill delivery and payment collection. LongShine took charge of the entire lifecycle from solution design, software development, and system deployment to maintenance support, and carried out indepth customization tailored to Zimbabwe’s local power operation characteristics, ensuring smooth golive and efficient operation.

The commissioning of this system not only provides critical technical support for Zimbabwe to build a modern power management framework – helping the utility reduce line losses, improve bill collection rates, and enhance customer service experience – but also, more importantly, offers a practical and feasible Chinese solution for the digital transformation of the power sector in African countries.
